CORRECTION: The information on the initial email was incorrect. This event is only open to volunteers 18 years of age or older. We apologize for this error. This year to give back during the Holidays, Beta Gamma Sigma will be partnering with the Blind Service Association to assist their members with holiday gift buying for a few hours on State Street downtown. This is an opportunity to help members of our community complete an annual tradition that we take for granted. *Friends and family members aged 18 years and older are welcome to attend. *Blind Service Association is a nonprofit organization providing programs and services to blind and visually impaired individuals in the Chicagoland area. We strive to help our clients live the most independent lives possible through our one-on-one reading and recording services, as well as our social and educational programs. We provide support groups, information and referral services, and different clubs and groups that provide information or social interactions for our clients; such as our walking club, knitting club, short story book club, and healthy living group. *For our holiday shopping event on Saturday, December 17th we will begin with a half hour orientation that will include a quick overview of BSA as well as the proper way to guide a person that is blind when walking around or crossing the street. Then each volunteer will be matched with one of our clients and they will let you know where they would like to go and what sort of shopping they will be doing. Thank you for your help with this program! Find out more information on our website: www.blindserviceassociation.org
